Donors will be eligible for $5,000 worth of prizes from Discover Wisconsin
If you haven't donated money to the Salvation Army's bell ringing efforts, Friday may be the time.
From 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 22, employees of Discover Wisconsin will be bell ringing at various locations throughout Wisconsin.
Stephanie Klett, Host of Discover Wisconsin TV and Radio and a former Miss Wisconsin, will be ringing at the Beloit Wal-Mart location. Volunteering along side Klett will be Miss Beloit 2006 Sara Siekierski.
“Discover Wisconsin is giving away more than $5,000 in prizes,” Klett said. “The first 100 people to make a donation of $5 or more will get a 2006 calendar. If the calendar is marked winner, that person will pick an envelope notifying them of the prize they have won.”
Prizes include a weekend getaway to the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake, restaurant gift certificates, tickets to Noah's Ark, baseball caps and more. There will be 10 winners.
“With all of the great work the Salvation Army does, it's the least we could do,” added Klett.
Appleton is also a part of the Discover Wisconsin bell ringing for the Salvation Army and has issued a challenge to Beloit. The city that fills more buckets gets bragging rights for the next year.
The winner will get the chance to boast about it on a live radio broadcast on WHBY in the Fox Cities.
